Knoozy ("we", "us", "our") makes current affairs simple, safe and fun for school students through our website (www.knoozy.in) and the Knoozy mobile app. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you and your family have. Because most of our readers are children, we keep this policy short and plain, and we hold ourselves to a high standard of care.
Knoozy is designed for school students aged 6 to 18. Accounts are created either by a parent or guardian, or by the student's school through the school's own portal. When a school creates accounts, the school has obtained the necessary consent from parents or guardians as required by law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).
Account information:
Information from schools: when a student signs in through their school's portal, the school shares the student's name, class and a student identifier so we can connect the account to the right school.
Learning activity: articles read, reading time, quiz scores and answers, reading streaks and points. We use this to power features like progress tracking and the class leaderboard, and to help schools and parents see how a student is doing.
Payment information: subscription payments are processed by Razorpay, a secure payment provider. We receive a confirmation of payment and an order reference. We never see or store card numbers, UPI PINs or bank credentials.
What we do not collect: we do not collect location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data. The app does not request these permissions.
We do not use personal information for third-party advertising, profiling for marketing, or any purpose unrelated to learning and reading.
Class leaderboards show a student's name, class and points to other students and teachers within the same school only. Leaderboards are never public and are never shared across schools.
We share personal information only in these limited cases:
We never sell personal information, and we never share it with advertisers.
We keep account and activity information for as long as the account is active. If an account is inactive for 24 months, or when a school's engagement with Knoozy ends, we delete or anonymise the associated student data within a reasonable period.
A parent, guardian or school can ask us to delete a student's account and data at any time by writing to info@chennaitech.org from the registered email address, or through the student's school. We complete deletion requests within 30 days and confirm once done.
Parents, guardians and students (through their parents or school) can ask us to:
Write to info@chennaitech.org and we will respond within 30 days. If you believe we have not resolved your concern, you may also approach the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update this page and notify schools and account holders through the app or by email before the changes take effect.
